The worlds largest cruise ship

Independence of the Seas is a new cruise ship from RCCL. It’s the world’s biggest cruise ship (in 2008) according to their launch information, and right now that little boat is visiting Oslo. Guess what! I’ve taken a look and have a few pictures to show you.

It’s 339 meters long and 56 meters wide, but only 8,5 meters deep. With 14 decks it can carry 3.600 passengers.

  1. would like to know when it would start sailing with passengers from the US

  2. Found out after I wrote the blog that this is one of several exactly equally large cruise ships, and several of them are sailing among the Caribbean islands… From New Orleans, some ports in Florida and other ports in the US.
