Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas

The last years I have been sending christmas-cards electronically. Hopefully people will think that I am being considerate about the environment, and not just being lazy. To add to the laziness, the image I used for the christmas card is one I have published before, and it is available a few posts down on this blog. The reason for this might be understood if you just finish reading this blog post.

As people who have read my blog might remember, this have been busy year including a couple of trips abroad. One visit to Egypt in March gave us our first taste of Africa. Pyramids and old sights gave an enormous contrast to poverty and garbage. In Egypt they work the land the old way using donkeys and bulls.

The last couple of months though we have been busy moving from an old apartment to a (almost) new house. Christmas will be celebrated under a new roof but with family and old friends. So with this short and ecologically friendly christmas greeting I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Two and a half on a bench

two2

Last weekend I enjoyed a nice late autumn in the sun running amok with my camera. Among else I took a walk inside Akershus castle in Oslo

Two women where feeding a banana to a child on a bench inside the castle. The sun was pretty low when I took the picture. As you maybe can see from the picture the sun is somewhere to the right of the two women and the child.

I admit that I’ve removed a few twigs that entered the picture in the upper right corner. I hope that it isn’t possible to see my little editing.

Edinburgh Castle, after a slight retouch ;-)

It’s seldom that you get the perfect image when you lift your camera to your eyes. This is very much a not-perfect picture.
1. There is actually a road in the lower left corner of this picture, but thanks to some cloning that is no longer an issue.
2. The skies were exceptionally grey. Well they were!
3. And finally the picture is a bit blurred. So what do you do?

The answer is: Photoshop!
