Starlights

This a composite of 65 pictures, each 30 seconds long exposures

I have always wanted to take a picture of the stars using long exposure. I finally did that recently. Here is a composite of 65 pictures. You can see Stella Polaris (the northern star) in the center of the wheel. This is my first try, so this is not perfect.
Still, I find it quite interesting to note all the different colours of the stars.

San Pietro

San Pietro – or St Peters Cathedral

When in Rome everybody visits the Vatican. So did we. Here is the St Peters Cathedral by night. Actually I wanted a darker picture of the church, but while I was rigging up my camera they turned on the lights. This is a picture taken with a 10mm wide-angel lens. I have tried to fix some of the lens distortion, but I am not sure if it worked well enough though.

Oslo by night

When I had a look at the "Independence of the Seas" I also toyed a bit with a panoramic view of Oslo harbour. This is another example of the results from Autostitch. Actually here the photographer did not think the picture all through, so you might notice some anomalies in the sky. Well, I’ve tried to "repair" some missing parts of the sky. Not perfectly though. Please try to ignore the bad Photoshop work of mine.

Notre Dame by night

notredame This blog has seen a few days without updates. The reason for this is that my girlfriend and I have been out travelling. We just spent a weekend in Paris together, and I went amok with my camera. At least it sounds like that if you listen to my girlfriend. "Are you going to take a picture of that one too….?" Actually she is quite patient with me. So this is from Paris, and our last evening. We were walking towards our intended restaurant when this scene appeared as we were crossing the bridge.

Ah, you might want to know some details about this picture: Exposure time: 30 seconds, Aperture Value: 18, ISO: 400

PS: Notice the one way signs under the bridge.
