Testing lenses and bird watching

Last Sunday FotoVideo, one of the largest photography shops in Oslo, had a marketing event at Østensjøvannet in Oslo. They brought along some of the best large lenses available for Canon and Nikon cameras, and then we were allowed to try them out on the wildlife at the lake. Østensjøvannet is well-known for its bird life during the summer and when you can try out 800 and 600 mm Canon L lenses, the bird life gets quite interesting. I ended up mostly trying out a cheaper Sigma 150-500 lens though. That’s a lens I can afford, and also a lens you might bother carry around. The 800mm lens was quite heavy.

Here are some of the photos I managed to take during my trial. I have taken better photos, but I liked them and hope that you will too.
